Janna Dahl uses various techniques to express her inspirations on canvas using thick texture with bold and vibrant colors for a positive impact.   She uses a combination of real and abstract objects to convey complexities of life.   The symbols most seen in her work are peacocks which she describes as "beautiful life" with their bold colors attracting one's attention and apples as having deep spiritual/biblical meaning in regards to the celebration of life and peace.  Horses are also conveyed in some of her work as they represent intuition and freedom.
